MOW is NOT anywhere near realistic. You guys should download the Beyond Normandy and Shock Force demo and see what I mean.

After now have been strugling whit this game for 24h + i have learned the following things:
1). Ingame controle is abselutly horrebly, not sure if its attempted to be made for consols but for a pc whit keyboard+mouse it suck big time, you have a hard time keeping you camar in a desent wive of you troops and atealy controling your troops is even harder you have alot of options of wheather you want your infantry to ether move norma,l slow, fast, sprint ect but in all cases they will eny way ignore your ordre and walk normal to the target and usealy get shot in the prossec.

2). The sounds is exatly the same sounds from prefiusly games in serie exept for the added "new" feture whit random back ground gun/arty sounds whis most of all sounds like a drumming party in a zulu town in the 18century

3). The realistic aspect of the game is ok aslong as you dont use or figth heavy german tanks as a fanboy of german armor i like to use panthers and tigers ect but when you repedly see em take amount of punisment there whud have even obliterated a leopard 2 or a T-90 the i get the feeling somthing is wrong, so fare even how hard i have tryed from both sides it have not been able to knock out eny tigers 1 or 2 and i have only seen a panther go down after the combined fire power of 4 P-47 planes and serval battleships did naval bombarding on it. Somtime the infantry can be wierd too you can land an 210mm HE rocket in middel of an 12 man group and nada happens but one burst from an mp40 and they all get ripd arpart.

4). I think this is the only nice things i can say about the game atm, the visual grafic is very nice(super nice even) and finaly have arty units learned to do indirect fire unlike the eaylier games.

So in over all i wud wish to get the features from point 4 back to CM: Barbarossa to Berlin and/or Afrika Korps, i wud not advice ppls against bying this game but you shud only get it if you are a die hard fan of the game series or your planning on shooting a movie or somting.

The Combat Mission series has always had a very clunky engine. I play Shock Force, and it definitely has it's moments. The amount of effort put into the realistic aspect of the game is so in depth one may not ever fully realize it. The camera controls ARE absolutely horrid indeed, and the turn based style of play is a little unusual for me personally. 1 minute round intervals makes it very difficult to react to anything. BUT, the game can definitely be great fun if you understand how it works and the tricks of its trade. Of course this is based off of the Shock Force edition, which is pretty much modern day in a fictional war between Syria and the USA (With expansions it adds the USMC, NATO, and the British).

Speaking of which, I think Im gonna drop all my responsibilities of the moment to play that right now :d
In the midst of flying a SU-35 Flanker in a BF3 match on Caspian Border, a player on the opposing team expresses his anger about none of their air assets being up. A pub on his team responds with:
"Its a bit difficult to fly when the enemy has Namco's Ace Combat team in the air."

Its real time sullivan, why do you play its other turn based mode?
BTW the new addon apparently upped the ram limitation to 4gig but still restricts to one core?

the real time feature is kind an interisting thing they added but i dont like using it i strongly prefere running it as the older onsc whit 1min turns. I run it whit two cores np so dunno about the restricts.

Yeah I play real time myself. Turn based is great because I can easily command all parts of the battle at once. Really just a matter of getting used to it. Although I love turn based strategy games in the first place, I find myself pondering why I dont just do that.

Anyways, this certainly is a great series, very different from every strategy game out there. I certainly enjoy it despite its occasional quirks.
