Yeah thats exactly what it would do to me with BF2, and did it to me once so far on BF3. Thats why punkbuster is the worst.. What it is exactly is just that the punkbusterB.exe that runs in the background idyls and wont connect to the BF servers, so it kicks you after a few minutes

PB used to RUIN my time playing BF2 and BF2142. Sometimes I could not fix it, and the problem would just disappear a week later. But, one thing you can do is to manually update punkbuster. You can get the installer here Inoc: http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=dl-bf3.php
